The Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO) has initiated a significant Request for Information (RFI) Process aimed at companies interested in manufacturing wind energy systems and/or their components in Chile. This key initiative seeks to lay the groundwork for a clean energy technology supply chain, essential for the development of green hydrogen and the advancement towards a just energy transition and decarbonization in the country.
The primary objective of this RFI is to identify companies with the capacity and interest to establish production operations in Chile, as well as to understand the necessary conditions for them to supply both the national and regional markets. This effort is part of CORFO’s strategy to foster the creation of a robust industry supporting the growth of renewable energies.
Once this information gathering phase concludes, and depending on the results obtained, CORFO will evaluate the possibility of launching a Request for Proposal (RFP) Process. In that stage, the initiatives proposed during the RFI phase will need to be specified in greater detail, marking a more concrete step towards the materialization of these projects.
Key Dates for the RFI Process:
- Period for inquiries and clarifications: Until June 11, 2025.
- Period for responses to inquiries: Maximum 10 business days from receipt.
- RFI process closure for documentation submission: July 30, 2025.
- Publication of RFI Stage results: August 18, 2025.
