A new study has been released proposing the creation of a sustainability certification system for hydrogen and its derivatives in Chile. This initiative aims to ensure that the national production of hydrogen, ammonia, and synthetic fuels meets the demanding import requirements of key markets, with a particular focus on the European Union.

The study, titled “Strategic proposal for a certification system for hydrogen and derivatives in Chile”, is a crucial step in positioning the country as a reliable exporter of clean energy. The sustainability certification would allow Chile to guarantee its trading partners that its products have been manufactured under high environmental and social standards.

This work is part of the project “Team Europe Renewable Hydrogen Development in Chile RH2”, an initiative co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, aimed at boosting the development of renewable hydrogen in the country.
