The following document is the press release issued by the European Commission on 13 February 2023 in which the two Delegated Acts that complement Directive 2018/2001 relating to the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources are announced.

Specifically, the first Delegated Act defines under what conditions hydrogen, hydrogen-based fuels or other energy vectors can be considered renewable liquid or gaseous fuels of non-biological origin, while the second establishes a methodology to calculate greenhouse gas emissions during the life cycle of renewable liquid or gaseous fuels of non-biological origin.

Following the conclusion of the review period by the competent committees of the European Parliament and the Council, on 20 June 2023, the Commission officially published in the Official Journal of the European Union the original text of the two Delegated Acts previously adopted in February, coming into effect on 10 July 2023.
